As a Physical Therapist within the Penn State Health System you will have the opportunity to work in an academic medical setting in either our Sports Medicine Program our Neurological Program.
Orthopedic Program: you will work alongside a team of seasoned therapists with expertise in sports, orthopedic, hand, and spine rehab amongst others. You will work closely with Sports Medicine orthopedic and primary care providers in treating pre-operative, non-operative and post-operative patients with peripheral joint injuries. Daily clinical caseload will include the treatment of general orthopedic patients, spine patients and providing comprehensive care to competitive & recreational athletes. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in orthopedic and sports physical therapy; McKenzie Method training or willingness to be trained is a plus. Recent graduates with strong clinicals in orthopedics/sports medicine will be considered.
Neurologic Program: you will work alongside a team of seasoned therapists with expertise in vestibular, acquired brain injury, concussion and pelvic floor dysfunction amongst others. You will work closely with our Neurology, Neurosurgery and Physical Medicine departments in treating neurological conditions such as but not limited to stroke, ambulatory dysfunction, Parkinson's disease and vestibular disorders in addition to pelvic floor dysfunction. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience with pelvic floor dysfunction training or a willingness to be trained. Recent graduates who have strong desire for working in neurologic dysfunction and pelvic floor dysfunction will be considered.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for evaluating the physical therapy needs of assigned patients, for formulating and implementing treatment programs, and for monitoring patient progress.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in physical therapy from a CAPTE certified program and completion of clinical rotations required.
Must hold a PA license (or eligibility) in physical therapy.
