Manager Respiratory Therapy Full Time Days Position Summary
Manages operations for Respiratory, Sleep Disorders, and/or other services.
Implements departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
Assesses quality of patient care and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments.
Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, conflict management and other job related issues. Oversees scheduling, recruitment and payroll.
Prepares and monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
Recommends changes in departmental operations and clinical performance standards.
Assess and implement new therapy modalities with guidance of Medical Director; as approved by governing body of respiratory care.
Collaborates and supports ongoing education for staff and other hospital associates.
Participate in organizational quality improvement programs.
COMPLEXITY OF WORK:
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
THE MANAGER RESPIRATORY THERAPY FT DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Required: Valid current Arizona Respiratory Care Practitioner License. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or others as required by individual department.
Preference: Bachelorâ��s or Masterâ��s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an Accredited School of Respiratory Therapy, or a closely related field or Business Administration.An Associateâ��s degree in RT will meet the education requirements for internal candidates.
Required: Three (3) years continuous clinical experience with one (1) year supervisory.
Preferred: Five (5) years continuous clinical experience with three (3) years supervisory.
