Atlanta Medical Center (AMC) is part of Wellstar Health System, one of the premier integrated health systems in the country. Named 2021 Fortune Best Workplaces in Healthcare as well as 100 Best Workplaces for Diversity. AMC consists of two campuses located in downtown Atlanta and East Point. Across both campuses, AMC has 762 licensed beds, and is one of only two Level I trauma centers in Atlanta. It is highly rated in the areas of advanced surgery, cardiology, neurology, oncology, women’s health, orthopedics, bloodless medicine and rehabilitation. It also houses a birthing center with a Level III NICU. AMC is a teaching hospital with residency programs in internal medicine, family medicine, general surgery and orthopedic surgery.
The Chief Nursing Officer reports to the Senior Vice President and Hospital President for the development, organization, and ongoing leadership for the nursing division within Atlanta Medical Center. This includes strategic planning, financial management, quality, integration of patient services practices, policies, and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success as a CNO in a fast-paced, and competitive market. This seasoned nurse leader will have turnaround experience as well as the ability to develop, mentor staff and a track record of achieving operational excellence. In addition, experience in quality improvement, recruitment, as well as partnering with physicians to grow service lines will be invaluable.
Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from accredited school. At least one degree must be in nursing.
Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Georgia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) Registered Nurse on the first day of employment in role.
Ten (10) years of demonstrated progression in management/leadership experience in a hospital or health system required.
Demonstrated success as a CNO in a fast-paced, growing, and competitive market. Includes direct management of large departments or multiple departments, including strategic and financial planning and effective management of resources.
Experience in working within a multi-hospital system environment is preferred. Experience with a highly competitive and urban market are strongly preferred.
