Swedish Health Services is seeking an experienced Bariatric Surgeon to serve as the Medical Director of the Bariatric Surgery program in Seattle, Washington. Build upon an already impressive MBSAQIP-accredited Bariatric program with the resources of a large system, physician and administrative support, and excellent referral base. As part of The Swedish Digestive Health Institute (DHI), the medical director will partner with DHI Executive Medical Directors on clinical quality, safety and growth initiatives in efforts to ensure a high-quality, innovative, comprehensive, and patient-centered program that meets the needs of the community and a growing medical field. Furthermore, this position will join an incredible multidisciplinary team of surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, dietitians, and psychologists, and partner with Obesity Medicine and Endocrinology leadership to develop a collaborative and coordinated approach to care. The Bariatric Surgery program at Swedish Weight Loss Services was established in 2006 and performs over 450 primary and revisional weight loss cases annually. This role is an exciting opportunity to build upon and further develop an already successful program in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. - Board-Certified in General Surgery
- Completed a Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship
- 8+ years of bariatric surgery experience required in a MBSAQIP-accredited institution
- Excellent communicator who will be an advocate for change and a champion for the department
- Previous experience in a leadership role preferred
