Accountable for surveillance, prevention and control of infections in patients, staff, physicians, visitors and other internal and external customers. Assists in monitoring and reporting of fiscal and budgetary operations and provides support for the vision and direction of the division. Responsible for ongoing interface and frequent communication with management, staff, physicians, patients, and other internal and external customers. Observes and evaluates techniques and practices related to health care associated disease prevention at all levels of health care
Performs surveillance activities and applies a basic epidemiologic approach to problem solving
Provides formal and informal education programs to health care providers
Provides patient education regarding disease transmission and prevention methods
Evaluate infection prevention and control policies and procedures
Serves as the Infection Prevention consultant for multiple departments

Identifies location of Unit Safety Plan Manual and describes the evacuation plan for the specific environment. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
