We are conveniently located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River near downtown Minneapolis.
Primarily orthopaedics with med/surg overflow.
Total joint replacements and revisions, specialized orthopaedic procedures such as limb lengthening, orthopedic tumor removals, amputations.
Work closely with Orthopaedic Surgeons, Residents, NP, Infectious Disease Specialists, and Hospitalists, as well as PT/OT team.
Team supported by Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Clinical Development Specialist.
Care delivery team: RN & NST on all shifts. Average 3-4 patients on Day/Eve shift, 5-6 on night shift.
This position works 56 hours in a 2 week period on the rotating evening/night shift shift, 8 and 12 hour shifts and every third weekend.This position is benefit eligible.
The Registered Nurse position is responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices on a busy, fast-paced orthopaedic floor. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care.
Provides care to adult orthopaedic patients with complex medical conditions which require close observation, monitoring and interventions.
Safely employs (sets-up, utilizes and trouble shoots) the following monitoring devices including but not limited to:
Manages complex medication and infusion therapies
Care for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit
