The Director of Multi-Specialty is accountable for providing leadership through the management of clinical, financial, and human resources. Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nursing practice that applies nursing process and supports the mission of Doctors Hospital and Patient Care Services. Exhibits excellent technical skill, critical thinking, initiative, integrity, accuracy and compassion towards the delivery of quality nursing care in an interdisciplinary practice environment.
The Director of Multi-Specialty oversees all department functions and provides leadership in the development and evaluation of nursing personnel, and in maintaining operations of the patient care units. Promotes teamwork between departments and contributes to the provision of safe, high quality nursing care. Functions as a role model for professional nursing practice and behavior while promoting care that protects patient dignity and consistently strives to improve the patient experience. Supports quality, education, research, and quality improvement efforts. Demonstrates expertise in motivating the nursing team toward a common goal of providing safe, quality patient care while supervising care delivery in a fiscally responsible manner. Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
B.A./B.S. in Nursing Required. MSN Preferred and required to be started within 6 months and completed within 2 years from start of program. Active California R.N. license, Healthcare Provider BLS upon hire, ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire. 5+ Years In-Hospital Clinical and 2-3 Years Management/Leadership Role
Knowledge and experience in providing safe, proficient, quality nursing care for a wide variety of in-patient populations, including geriatric, pediatric, cardiac/telemetry, critical care, medical, surgical, oncology, bariatric, orthopedic and renal/dialysis.
Excellent problem solving, listening and language skills are necessary. Must be fluent in spoken and written English with proficient writing. Strong computer skills and proficient in computer applications such as MS Office, Optilink Staffing and Scheduling, Cerner E.H.R., Kronos. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
