PRIMARY CUSTOMERS, PARTNERS, AND TEAM:           

At Florida Hospital, our primary customers are patients and families.  Our partners are physicians and our team members are all employees of Florida Hospital.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

*         Provides direct and indirect services to specific age groups in the acute care, inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation settings.

*         Utilizes process improvement in achieving the goals of the Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine Department.

*         Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies.

*         May supervise CFYs, other Speech and Language Pathologists, technical aides, volunteers and interns.

*         Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

*      Demonstration of at least entry level professional competency of Speech and Language practice, theory, principles and applications as defined in competencies departmental policy.

*      CPR Certificate

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

*         Basic computer skills to include Outlook, Microsoft Office and Windows

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

*         A Masters Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

*         N/A

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

*         A license or provisional license in the State of Florida as a Speech and Language Pathologist.

*         CCC-S within 60 days of hire date (Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by ASHA).
